Order Only: Fears Allayed

Well, I am grateful to be able to report that things are not as bad as I'd feared.
Typically I only engage with other Death Eaters through the Lord Protector's informal salons; I am rarely invited to take part in the workings of the government in any official capacity. Indeed, as an extra-governmental group, not all Death Eaters are even as engaged as I - though all are influential in their own particular ways.
The world is naturally buzzing over the Grim Truth, and therefore I had an excellent excuse to contact my various colleagues and ask their opinions. I am certain that over half of them had no knowledge of the Ministry's involvement in the matter of plague. Even Mulciber, who I always thought to be quite high in the Dark Lord's opinion. So I may rest easily. I do suspect Lucius Malfoy to have known something - I know him well enough by now to recognize a guilty countenance when I see it. And there are others I find harder to read - Nott and Rosier. But I shall continue to pry, and no longer fear for my own skin quite as much. It seems likely that I was merely deemed insignificant to their greater purpose.
