Fire calls prohibited

In consultation with the Ministry of Magic, I regret to inform students that fire calls are hereby strictly prohibited.

No matter how pure or safe your family may seem, there is always the possibility of simple bad luck. Therefore, it is not wise to have any contact with people outside the castle, unless the most stringent precautions are taken.

The wards have therefore been altered. Further fire calling will be impossible, except in certain private fireplaces. If you absolutely require a fire call, direct your request to me.

I'm sorry that this measure is necessary, but I'm very glad to have the matter clarified. I know we are all impressed with the measures the Ministry is taking to protect us. I, for one, feel perfectly assured that Director Selwyn and the specialists at St Mungo's are taking all possible precautions to keep us well.
